Artwork Guidelines

Faux Kraft material allows you to design your artwork on top of a Kraft background image. This design method means you can design over the top of the Kraft pattern with white as the only color, pair white elements with other full-color graphics, or use full-color artwork only.

Your box is printed using digital CMYK printing, so there are no added costs for any of your design choices; you can let your creativity run free! More details about Faux Kraft are available on this page.

How do I design with Faux Kraft on the 3D Design Tool?

1. Log in to your Packlane account at the top right of the screen so that you can save your creation.
2. Customize your product configuration on the product page, including size, material, and quantity. For Faux Kraft, select that material option.
3. Click Design Now to start designing.
4. The Kraft background image will already be in the background, so you can preview your design as you get creative designing your packaging with text, shapes, backgrounds, uploaded images, and more.
5. Once you’re satisfied with your design, click Save and Continue.
6. Review your cart and proceed to checkout.

How do I design with Faux Kraft on a dieline?

Designing Faux Kraft on a dieline is the same as designing any other packaging product on a dieline, with just a few extra steps.

1. Download the Faux Kraft Pattern image linked here by right-clicking on it and selecting Save Image.
2. Download the dieline for your preferred product.
3. Open the dieline file in your design software of choice.
4. Import the Faux Kraft Pattern image into the dieline file and place it on the bottom layer. Stretch it out to fill the canvas, then lock the layer it’s on. It’s okay that this image (and only this image) is low-resolution, because our Prepress team will replace it with a high-resolution Kraft image before proofing it back out to you.
5. Create your design on layer(s) that are placed above the layer that the Faux Kraft Pattern is on.
   • Don’t forget that you can add white artwork to create a white ink effect on top of the Kraft pattern!
6. Submit your finished file with your order.

Which design method should I choose?

• Use the 3D Design Tool if you want to create your box online using uploaded artwork, text, colors, and graphics.
• Use a custom dieline if you're working with a professional designer or creating artwork in Adobe Illustrator or another design application.

Both options include a digital proof for review before your order enters production.
